Why invest in time and attendance devices?
Time clocks perform complex time calculations on-the-fly at the clock based on your company policies to improve time compliance, overall adherence to schedules, adherence to rounding rules, and more. By making the calculation in real time based on definitions within the existing workforce management system, the clock effectively eliminates costly schedule and labor inconsistencies that add up over time. For example, if policy dictates employees are not allowed to clock in more than 15 minutes prior to a scheduled shift and an employee attempts to do just that, the clock can not only reject the attempt, display an error message, record the attempt, and more. Even more complex calculations involving overtime or other data can be performed on-the-spot, preventing unauthorized overtime before it starts.
Time clocks can do more than just in and out. While the most popular functions are always in/out for shifts, breaks and meals, our devices can allow employees to change the department to which they report during a shift, which can change their pay rate or hours calculation, and more. In addition to transferring between jobs, departments and labor levels, the devices have function keys that can be programmed to collect additional data that helps business outcomes. For example, collect tip information, cost center data, shift expenses, or other data in order to seamlessly provide a complete picture to the attendance/WFM system.
Our devices can also eliminate buddy punching by harnessing the power of biometric data capture. No longer can employees share badges and PINs and effectively steal time or prevent occurrences because biometric devices cannot be fooled. The power of biometric authentication is no longer an unaffordable technology; the tried-and-true fingerprint authentication method is a favorite among retailers and can also accept badge/PIN as an additional layer of authentication. We offer a variety of fingerprint devices, from touchscreen to hard metal. Plus, we offer facial recognition devices for those environments in which touchless, hygeinic user experiences are preferred. This technology cannot be fooled by the dark, twins, facial hair, and more, and can also be coupled with badge/PIN authentication. Already have badges in use? We can program our devices to match the existing badge technology (barcode, magnetic stripe, proximity, etc.) so you don’t have to re-invest.
